The patio
The patio looks through the iron fence to the water. The geese come to see who has arrived; the herons keep their distance along the shore.
Inside
The living room, dining table and kitchen run together under vaulted ceilings, with windows on two sides and a chandelier over the table that seats the whole house. Recliners face the TV, the kitchen has dark cabinets, granite counters and a coffee bar, and the fireplace is there for the handful of cold weeks a Texas winter manages.
The bedrooms
The main bedroom has a king under a vaulted ceiling, with its own bathroom with a double vanity and a glass shower, and a walk-in closet. The second bedroom has a queen, the third two singles under a world map, and the two share the hall bath. Linens, towels and hangers are in; the washer and dryer are down the hall.
Jannie’s place was absolutely perfection for me and my family. We absolutely loved the pond and the walking trail. Highly recommend her place! My stepson absolutely loved being able to be only steps away to fish.

Mallard Mile is where my friends come to slow down. Walk the trail before breakfast, fish from the bank with the children, work from the office if you must, and have dinner on the patio while the ducks argue about it.
The kitchen is stocked the way I keep my own: pots, pans, coffee, spices. If you need a crib or a high chair, say so before you arrive and it will be set up.
