Getting to Ocho Rios: Ian Fleming or Montego Bay?

Guests ask this more than anything else, so here it is in one place.
Ian Fleming International (OCJ)
The small airport at Boscobel, less than half an hour east of Columbus Heights along the coast through Tower Isle. It takes scheduled flights from Miami and from the islands, and private and charter flights. If you can route through it, do: you are at the gate before a Montego Bay arrival has cleared immigration. Taxis wait outside the terminal, and Posh Paths' drivers meet arrivals when you book a transfer.
Sangster International (MBJ)
Montego Bay is the big airport, with the direct flights from most of the United States, Canada and Europe. From there it is about an hour and three quarters east on the North Coast Highway, past Falmouth, Discovery Bay and Runaway Bay, with the sea on your left most of the way. Book a transfer before you land: the fare is fixed, the driver knows the hill, and you are not bargaining in the arrivals hall after a long flight. Shared shuttles run the same road and are cheaper if you are travelling light and in no hurry.
Kingston (KIN)
About two hours south over the mountains on the A3 through Fern Gully, the road under the tree-fern canopy that drops you into Ocho Rios. Worth it if Kingston is where your flight lands or if you want to see the Blue Mountains on the way.
The hill
Columbus Heights is on a winding hill above the town. With luggage or groceries, take a car; we recommend local transport over walking it with bags, and route taxis wait at the bottom of the hill in town for the trip back up. Once you are in, everything in Ocho Rios is a short walk down.
What to book
Tell Posh Paths your flight when you book the stay and we will arrange the transfer from either airport with a driver we trust. If you want a car for the week, the rental counters are at both airports, but most guests find a driver for the day cheaper and easier for the falls, the Blue Hole and the coast.
